Simpler and more affordable than the sails you would use for kiteboarding, the Snapshot is an ideal intro to power kiting, with enough thrust to drag even larger pilots down the beach. When you are ready step up to the added control of four lines, the 2.5 can convert to a quad-liner by adding quad handles and one more set of flying lines (conversion quad handles, lines, and components are not included). Or add an optional Prism convertible dual/quad control bar for the best of both worlds. The Snapshot comes complete with Spectra dual-lines pre-attached, flight straps, tail and compact pouch, the Snapshot will make a wind junkie out of you on your first breezy day.

The ’09 & earlier are NOT convertible to quad-line setup

only the current model (in a bag w/ buckles, NOT a snap) can be converted

If not for the above disappointment I would have been tremendously pleased. Hard pulling in even a moderate breeze, more sluggish than the 1.2 (also own that model), but in many ways more fun b/c of how powerful it is.

nice features included the padded handles, velcro bridle storage (if you prefer to disconnect the lines), & appropriately sized bag

Can’t wait to get to the beach where I’ll have a strong breeze and room to get dragged

unless you get a killer deal and don’t care about going to quad line, verify that you are getting a 2010 model

I also have a snapshot 1.4. This 2.5 pulls much much harder and is a blast to fly. My only complaint would be that is is a bit slow compared to the 1.4. No biggie because I still have my 1.4 for super windy days and faster carving. I am 6’6″ 215lbs, and this kite will pull/drag me easily 10-15ft. in 15 knot winds. This kite is not for kids unless you want them to fly away…

This is a very nice beginner kite. I foolishly flew this kite in 45Kph winds, and ended up fracturing my ankle. Not the kites fault though.

This Kite comes ready to go and is in the air within minutes with a good breeze. It is my first kite that you can actually stear. Very Very great experiance and it put my mother in law on her backside ( she has little balance to work with ) . I had a lot of onlookers seeing me fly back and forth on my first flight. Dont think about it buy this and you wont be upset with your choice.

This is my secound snapshot kite , I also have the snapshot 1.9 Both kites are of high quality and are a blast to fly. The 1.9 seems a little quicker in the same wind but the 2.5 will pull harder, first thing I noticed was the 2.5 has brake lines that kind of hang down , but this is so you can convert it to a quad line kite if you like. at first i thought it was a defect. I got the blue one it looks great. the wrist straps are the padded ones slightly higher quality over the 1.9 the kite fits nicely in the pouch the tag that was on my kite said its 330# line I weigh 215 lbs and this kite will drag me around if the wind is over 15 mph Im hooked, Great fun!!
